Penny Countertop

While more of a novelty than a serious countertop option, we ran across this video showing off a  bar top covered with pennies and were intrigued by it. So, we decided to share it with our audience in hopes you might get a kick out of it (or be inspired by the creativity). The video, which doesn’t actually show the process, just the finished result, was posted by “HarborElf” and is pretty intricate.

According to the person that created the countertop, it took 35 hours (after the design had been plotted out) to actually attach all of the pennies to the top using silicone. This bar top is not sealed, which seems odd, and each of the pennies on the edges were painstakingly bent one at a time using a vice and rubber mallet, so that they wrapped around the sides.
