LG Hausys Adds New Styles to Its Musica Collection

Posted on 04 January 2017 by CRadmin3

lg musica collectionLG Hausys introduced four new styles in the Musica Collection. The new Musica Renewal Collection features a rich combination of large-movement and marble-like patterns and shades of earth and rock. Inspired by the complexity and beauty of the finest orchestral music from eighteenth and nineteenth century Europe, the endless variety and complexity of the patterns reminds one of the luxury and depth of the great composers’ works. The new styles are: Lento, a smoky grey backdrop with hints of warm beige tones; Clarino, a warm white background contrasted with a chorus of gold toned veins; Quartet, a spectrum of subtle shades of grey compose a look rich in volume and sound; and Waltz, a warm beige background is accented with marbling in rich brown and dynamic white tones.

More About Embedding Wireless Charging into Countertops

Posted on 19 February 2015 by cradmin

This video by Reviewed.com, is an interview of a representative of LG Hausys, makers of HI-MACS solid surface and Viatera quartz, who demonstrate how wireless charging technology can be embedded into “smart” countertops. The speaker basically walks you right through how it is done, including which technology they prefer (although do not endorse) and even talk about the cost of it.

Although previous information released elsewhere claims that granite or quartz are not candidates for this technology, this speaker directly opposes that viewpoint and asserts that only countertop materials containing metal will prevent the wireless transmission.

If you are interested in this emerging upsell for countertops, then you should probably give this video a watch.

Nocturne – one of two new colors of LG Viatera quartz surfacing recently added to the ‘Musica Collection’

Viatera quartz surface manufactured in the United States by LG Hausys, added two new colors to its Musica collection: Nocturne (see photo) and Octave. The colors in the Musica Collection are said to be inspired by fine orchestral music and all of the colors in the engineered stone series, including the two new ones, contain a combination of large movement and marble-like patterns and shades. Nocturne is a darker color, while Octave combines different shades of grey hues with translucent particulate.

Viatera has a 15-year transferrable warranty and has NSF 51 and Greenguard certification, and are available in jumbo-sized slabs. And, as with all other quartz surfacing, it is nonporous and has a high resistance to stains, chemicals and heat.

Thermoforming Solid Surface

Posted on 16 October 2012 by cradmin

Here is another great video, this one posted by Sterling Surfaces - a fabrication outfit in Massachusetts that is well known for its 3-D thermoforming capabilities – depicting the creation of a complex solid surface desk. The desk was made out of LG HI-MACS for the product’s owner LG Hausys, to be displayed at the 2010 Greenbuild show.

The video only provides a glimpse of Sterling’s actual thermoforming station/process, but otherwise does a good job of showing the process from the mold to the final finishing. Well worth a watch for those interested in solid surface:
