For Ripano Stoneworks, located in Nashua, N.H., building a successful countertop business is all about experience and fine-tuning. Optimizing the daily workflow is a strategy that this company has embraced since it was founded 27 years ago.
To meet the company’s optimization goals, Ripano Stoneworks became one of the first fabricators in the region to adopt new technology for digital templating and automated processing. Later, the company took steps to improve efficiency by reducing energy consumption, and today, they task at hand is to develop new procedures for material handling that will improve work flow.
Matt Laliberte, operations manager for Ripano Stoneworks, has worked in the countertop industry since he was 14. His grandfather was in the cultured marble business, and his father, founded Ripano in 1986. Today, the company includes a showroom, an indoor slab-viewing area, an automated shop and administrative offices in a 32,000-sq.-ft. facility.
