Earlier this year DuPont finally launched its line of DeepColor Corian solid surface after teasing it for more than a year. Billed by the company as “deeper, darker, more lustrous and durable,” the idea behind the patent-pending DeepColor technoogy was to deliver greater depth of color and improved durability over regular dark colors of Corian solid surface. When scratched, the appearance of the scratch was reduced by 50 percent, according to the company, and it better resisted whitening cause by impacts. The series originally contained four black-based colors:  Deep Anthracite, Deep Nocturne, Deep Night Sky and Deep Black Quartz. However, the company has apparently perfected the use of this technology in dark brown hues, as according to the DuPont website, it is offering six new “Deep Brown” colors in Europe: Deep Mink, Deep Bedrock, Deep Sable, Deep Storm (pictured here), Deep Espresso and Deep Caviar.

It remains to be seen when or if these Deep Browns will be made available in North America.
